We are looking for a talented Payroll Coordinator to join our HR team in Athens, to oversee the organization's payroll processes, ensuring accurate and timely payment of employees. Responsibilities include managing payroll systems, calculating wages, taxes, and deductions, staying updated on relevant regulations, resolving payroll discrepancies, and generating payroll reports. Strong attention to detail, knowledge of tax laws, and proficiency in payroll software are essential for this role.
As a Payroll Coordinator, your daily responsibilities will include:
- Support the HR Manager in providing a high quality and proactive service, meeting corporate requirements, regarding all aspects of payroll, employee relations, benefits & HR processes
- Responsible for entering information and maintains up to date internal central employee tool (SuccessFactors)
- Performing day-to-day administrative tasks such as maintaining information files and processing paperwork
- Support payroll activities, gathers and analyzes payroll data from start to end
- Prepare payroll reports
- Maintain compliant policies and procedures for processing payroll & for HR
- Answers general human resource questions and inquiries regarding benefits, compensation and employee relations
- Coordinates and maintains confidential personnel records
- Support the HR Manager in ensuring that the company remains fully compliant with changes to employment law and practices, internal security and audit procedures, and that these practices are implemented consistently
- Work closely with the team, in the development of a performance driven culture, which encourages individual ownership of results and associate development
- Implement appropriate actions to raise associate satisfaction levels
- Contribute to the business planning process and ensure Human Resources Strategy is aligned to business goals
- Add value in support of the Company’s business objectives
- Be able to support employees with Greek employment law queries and direct them to the Government authorities when applicable
- Payroll/employee relations/benefits systems/process improvement & automation
- Managing Internal Payroll processes
- Reporting; finance, compliance, auditing
- Compliantly holding all employee documentation
- Partnering with internal stakeholders to implement HR policies, processes, and workflows to ensure employees have positive, transparent, and engaging HR experience.
- Enhancing the employee journey and experience.
- Guide the team to handle tickets, queries and first line advice
- Producing HR data for all teams and key stakeholders, working closely with finance to ensure data integrity.
- Strong team leadership and stakeholder management
To succeed in the role, you will need to have:
- Native or proficient level of Greek (C2)
- Advanced level of English (C1) both verbal and written
- Strong communication skills – with excellent phone conversation skills, attentive listening and superior writing skills
- Analytical and problem solving skills with strong attention to detail
- Desire to learn and advance, be a curious investigator and problem solver
- Solid understanding and use of computer (Internet, e-mail, MS Office, Payroll platforms and systems)
- Ability for problem solving, conflict resolution, motivation and negotiation
- Attention to detail and precision
- Effective time management, ability to organize and prioritize, set priorities and multi-task
- Organizational and communication skills
- Patience, empathy, and a unique ability to manage stress
- Ability to coordinate tasks & a team
- Strong excel skills and ability to use excel to detect and correct errors proactively (e.g. pivot tables, vlookups etc)
- You will have previous payroll experience
- Comfortable using HR systems
- Naturally being super detailed and having pride in being meticulous and where necessary to get involved in detailed deliver to ensure the right result
- Must hold EU citizenship or valid work permit for Greece
- Be located in Athens, since the position is office based
Education and experience
- College degree in HR Management, Organizational Psychology or a relevant field (preferable)ü College degree in HR Management, Organizational Psychology or a relevant field (preferable)
- Previous experience in customer services is an advantage
- Working experience with ERGANI
- Experience with EFKA procedures
- Knowledge of current labour and insurance legislation
Further skills and abilities:
- Working knowledge of the Scan or Python Epsilon Net program will be appreciated as an additional qualification
- Accounting knowledge will be assessed as an additional qualification
- People oriented
- Excellent knowledge of current employment legislation
- Familiarity with payroll software
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, facilitation and influencing skills
- Dependable, reliable and able to perform duties with minimum supervision
- Ability to interact positively with staff at all levels
