WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING

As the Financial Manager you will be responsible for overseeing all financial activities, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and alignment with organisational objectives.

You will lead the preparation of financial statements, budgets, and forecasts while analysing financial data to provide actionable insights for decision-making. Managing cost controls, optimizing financial processes, and ensuring adherence to regulatory requirements will be central to your role.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to support strategic initiatives, maintain financial health, and drive profitability. Additionally, you will supervise accounting teams, streamline reporting processes, and provide leadership in managing audits, risk assessments, and stakeholder communications.

Your expertise will help shape financial strategies to sustain growth and enhance operational efficiency.

ABOUT YOU

You will be a detail-oriented and results-driven finance professional with extensive experience in financial management, ideally within the BPO industry.

You will have a strong understanding of accounting principles, financial regulations, and operational metrics relevant to outsourcing operations. Your analytical skills and business acumen enable you to identify trends, optimise processes, and drive cost efficiencies.

With exceptional leadership abilities, you excel in managing diverse teams, fostering collaboration, and delivering high-quality financial reports under tight deadlines. You are proficient in financial systems and tools, with a proven ability to adapt to evolving technologies and environments.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: ACCOUNTING AND COMPLIANCE:

Ensure accurate and timely preparation of financial statements.

Maintain compliance with local and international accounting standards and regulations.

Oversee month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing processes.

Cost Management:

Analyse and manage costs to ensure profitability and operational efficiency.

Identify opportunities for cost reduction and process optimisation.

Stakeholder Collaboration:

Work closely with operational teams to align financial goals with business strategies.

Provide financial insights and reports to senior management and key stakeholders.

Audit and Risk Management:

Manage internal and external audits, ensuring transparency and compliance.

Identify, assess, and mitigate financial risks.

Cash Flow and Treasury Management:

Monitor cash flow to ensure liquidity and effective resource allocation.

Manage banking relationships and oversee treasury functions.

Regulatory and Tax Compliance:

Oversee tax planning, filing, and compliance with local and international laws.

Stay updated on changes in financial regulations and their implications.

YOUR PROFILE AND EXPERIENCE

Education: A bachelor’s degree in finance (Chartered Accountant) is essential.

Experience: 6+ years of progressive experience in finance or accounting roles

Leadership: Exceptional leadership skills with ability to manage multiple teams and large groups of people.

Expertise: Prior experience in the BPO or outsourcing industry is highly desirable due to the unique financial and operational dynamics of the sector.

Communication skills: Excellent Interpersonal/communication skills, communicating at all levels.

Ability: Proficient in financial software such as SAP, Oracle, QuickBooks, or other enterprise-level systems with advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and financial modelling tools.

Critical thinking: Effective problem-solving skills.

Employee performance: Performance Management skills.

Strategic: Mindset with a proactive approach to problem-solving and decision-making.

Background: A clear criminal background check.

KEY POINTS

Salary and benefits – TBC (Dependant on Experience)

Location – Waterfront Cape Town.

Working Pattern – 40 Hours per week – Core Business Hours

Contract Type – Fixed term contract (8 months from March 2025)
