We are looking for a talented and accomplished Italian Accountant & Controller to maintain and control financial statement accuracy. Your role will be to execute daily accounting transactions timely and accurately according to accounting standards.
As an Accountant & Controller, your daily responsibilities will include:
- Record accounting transactions in compliance with group accounting standards and according to the global closing schedule;
- Prepare monthly reconciliation between GL and sub ledger and IFRS/local GAAP;
- Perform analysis of the accounts;
- Accounts Payable: vendor invoice booking, prepare proposals for payments, manual payments, chase approvals, analyze and clear debits on the vendor accounts;
- Accounts Receivable: client invoice booking and sending to the clients, cash collection (factoring and/or chasing clients for payments), chase OPs for invoice templates, prepare AR aging on a weekly basis;
- General Ledger: record bank/payroll transactions and prepare monthly accruals, prepare BS reconciliations on a monthly basis, investigate and clear unusual/old items, prepare quarterly and adhoc reports;
- Fixed Assets: run monthly depreciations, review the FA ledger for proper documentation and completeness, maintain FA ledger.
To succeed in the role, you will need to have:
- Proficient Italian level (C1 and above)
- Proficient English level (C1 and above)
- Ability to work effectively in a multicultural environment
- Strong attention to detail and Analytical thinking
- Ability to listen and advise others with neutrality and integrity
- Proactive in identifying and escalating issues when necessary
- Enjoys working with numbers
- Good knowledge in Microsoft Office: Excel advanced (mandatory)
- Experience working with ERP systems
- SAP knowledge (nice to have)
- Availability to work Hybrid model from our office in Lisbon
Education and experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
- Up to 3 years of experience in accounting
- Experience in a global or international organization is a plus
