You Will

Reporting into the Global Storage and backup Services Team, the Backup, Recovery and storage Engineer will be primarily responsible for designing, building, updating, and operating a global Linux-based NetApp environment.  In this role you will need to work in collaboration with the other network and server teams from across the globe to ensure that all key systems are backed up with a high success rate.  The engineer will ensure that backup, recovery and storage systems are in compliance with applicable security policies, regulations and industry standards.

The Global UNIX and Storage Services Team is a small team, but with five major areas of responsibility:  backup and recovery, AIX servers, Linux servers, Storage Area Network, enterprise file-transfer applications.  Applicants must be willing to cross-train to support all aspects of team operations.  It is a great opportunity for a junior engineer to learn and grow. 

You Have

• Education: Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science (highly preferred) or equivalent work experience. Certifications in IBM, NetApp, and Linux are required.
• Experience: A minimum of 4+ years of hands-on experience in IBM, NetApp, and Linux.
• Attitude: A positive, can-do attitude is essential.
• Project Management: Strong project management skills to organize, drive, and execute initiatives effectively.
• Adaptability: Ability to excel in a highly dynamic environment, thriving amidst rapid technological and business changes.
• Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to engage internal and external clients while demonstrating enthusiasm, sound judgment, and common sense.

Preferred Skills (Optional):

• Fibre channel-based SAN switch administration
• Experience operating Solarwinds Serv-U file transfer applications
• Experience operating FileCloud file transfer applications

Salary Range

The base pay range for this position in the United States is $115,000 - $120,000 per year; however, base pay offered may vary depending on location, job-related knowledge, education, skills, and experience.
